Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a Communications Officer to join Derby City Council on an initialo 3 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
This is a hybrid based role working 1 day per week in the Derby City Council office.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver creative, insight-led communication and marketing campaigns that support the Council's priorities and objectives.
* Write engaging news articles, press releases, media statements, website content and promotional materials.
* Manage media enquiries and build positive relationships with local, regional and national press.
* Organise and attend media events and photocalls, acting as a key point of contact for journalists.
* Support the delivery of internal communications across a range of platforms.
* Create engaging content for digital channels, including social media and website updates.
* Film and edit short-form video content where required.
* Monitor campaign performance and identify opportunities to improve engagement and reach
Requirements
* Previous experience working in a Communications, PR, Marketing or Media role.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce high-quality content for a variety of audiences.
