Location: North West (Field-Based with UK Travel)
Salary: £45,000 + Company Vehicle + Excellent Benefits

The Opportunity
Our client is a well-established engineering business providing specialist maintenance, servicing and refurbishment solutions to the animal feed, biomass and industrial processing sectors across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Field Service Engineer to join their expanding engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically biased engineer who enjoys a varied role, combining workshop refurbishment with nationwide field service work. You'll work on a wide range of industrial processing equipment, supporting customers with planned maintenance, breakdown response and equipment upgrades.

The Role
You'll split your time between workshop-based refurbishment projects and travelling to customer sites throughout the UK. This role would suit someone with strong mechanical maintenance experience gained within manufacturing, heavy industry, agriculture, biomass, recycling or heavy plant environments.

Flexibility to travel and occasionally work weekends is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on industrial milling, pelleting and processing equipment.
Refurbish and upgrade used machinery within the company's refurbishment facility.
Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out effective repairs to minimise downtime.
Attend customer sites across the UK to complete servicing, maintenance and breakdown work.
Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and communicate recommendations to both customers and internal engineering and commercial teams.
Work safely and efficiently to meet customer deadlines and service level expectations.
Maintain high standards of workmanship and customer service while working independently and as part of the wider engineering team.
Essential

A recognised engineering or mechanical qualification.
Strong mechanical maintenance experience within a heavy industrial, manufacturing or processing environment.
Practical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Experience carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance.
Excellent time management and the ability to work independently.
Full UK driving licence.
Willingness to travel throughout the UK, including occasional overnight stays and weekend work.
Desirable
Experience within any of the following sectors would be advantageous:
