Work is underway to refurbish and prepare our new site in Battersea ready for our new school, Shillington Park opening in Autumn 2026 so we are looking for our next cohort of talented staff.

This role will commence in October 2026

Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated educator looking to make a real impact on young minds? We are seeking a motivated and inspiring
HLTA to join our dynamic team and help shape the future of our children and young people.

What you’ll be doing:

To work with students, parents, teacher and outside agencies on matters related to student welfare, thereby encouraging positive behaviour and attitudes to student learning.
Ensure the school is adequately resourced to provide effective cover supervision/arrangements for lessons
To work under the direction of the Assistant Headteacher, to implement planning and
Complement the professional work of the teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities
Supporting pupils with personal care where required, always maintaining dignity and safeguarding
Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour that may challenge
What we’re looking for:

GCSE or equivalent qualifications, to include English and Maths
Evidence of CPD or an interest in learning.
Effective communication with parents and carers
Excellent inter-personal skills.
Good personal organisation.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Awareness of the needs of a range of neurodiverse students (desirable)
Knowledge of the effects of ACEs and trauma on children (desirable)

Who are we?

Shillington Park is a new Special Educational Needs school opening in Autumn 2026 in Battersea. Our school will support children aged between 7 to 16 years with Autism and associated conditions who have not been able to access education in a mainstream or specialist setting and would benefit from an integrated therapeutic approach to education. Pupils will have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) but may not yet have a diagnosis, though they display traits of Autism and associated conditions.

Shillington Park is part of Kedleston Group. We specialise in providing specialist education for children aged 7-19 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). These include autistic spectrum condition (ASC), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).

We are committed to safeguarding and protecting children and we expect all colleagues to share this commitment. We will do everything possible to ensure that only those who are suitable to work with children are recruited to work for us. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020 and is subject to a range of vetting checks including a criminal records disclosure.
