A leading multi-million pound civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to support the delivery of major infrastructure and civil engineering projects across the West Midlands.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor with a strong pipeline of work, delivering high-quality projects within the highways and infrastructure sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setting out for a range of civil engineering works.
- Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications, and programme requirements.
- Carrying out quality assurance checks and maintaining accurate site records.
- Producing and maintaining as-built surveys.
- Working closely with Site Managers, Project Managers, and subcontractors to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Promoting and maintaining high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Essential Experience
Applicants must have proven experience in:
- Drainage installation (surface water, foul water, and associated infrastructure).
- Footpaths, kerbing, and external works.
- Concrete and structural works, including reinforced concrete structures, retaining walls, culverts, or similar civils infrastructure.
- Setting out using Leica or Trimble equipment.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Working on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
Requirements:
- Degree, HNC, or HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
- Valid CSCS card.
- SMSTS or SSSTS (desirable).
- Full UK driving license.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
