We are recruiting for an experienced Tunnelling Site Manager to oversee delivery of a 12.5m deep shaft constructed within a sheet piled perimeter, with resin injection works already completed by the client.
This is a key position offering long-term opportunity, with the initial contract expected to transition into a permanent role as part of a growing project pipeline.
Project Overview
12.5m deep shaft construction
Sheet piled perimeter installed
Ground stabilisation via resin injection (client completed)
Heavy civils & tunnelling environment
Key Responsibilities
Run the site independently and take full ownership of delivery
Manage shaft sinking and associated civils operations
Oversee workforce, plant, and subcontractors
Ensure all health & safety standards are maintained
Complete site documentation, permits, and reporting
Deliver works to programme and required quality
Requirements
Strong civils background (essential)
Shaft sinking / tunnelling experience (highly desirable)
Ability to manage technically challenging ground conditions
Confident with site paperwork and reporting
IT literate
Certifications
SMSTS - Essential
Appointed Person (Lifting Operations) - Essential
CSCS Card - Essential
Confined Space - Desirable
