Job Vacancy: Senior Residential Support Worker

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Senior Residential Support Worker to join a professional residential team caring for children and young people. The successful candidate will work in accordance with company policies, national standards, and relevant regulations to help create a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment.

Job Summary

Location: Wallasey, Wirral

Purpose: Engage in the effective delivery of residential childcare while upholding Quality Standards and Children's Homes Regulations 2015. The role focuses on helping to establish a positive setting that prioritises the health, safety, emotional needs, and educational development of each young person.

Pay Rates & Potential Earnings

Level 3 Qualified Hourly Rate: £15.94 per hour

Unqualified Hourly Rate: £15.33 per hour

Estimated Annual Earnings (Qualified): Approximately £37,804.80

(Calculated on 160 contracted hours/month, plus an average of 10 sleep-ins at £60 each, over 12 months)

Estimated Annual Earnings (Unqualified): Approximately £36,633.60

(Calculated on 160 contracted hours/month, plus an average of 10 sleep-ins at £60 each, over 12 months)

Duties & Responsibilities

Delivering effective individual care plans, risk assessments, and young person records in partnership with multi-agency teams.

Safeguarding children and maintaining a positive, caring environment where physical and emotional needs are fully met.

Supporting children to make progress, achieve positive outcomes, and develop essential life skills towards independence.

Seeking out and acting upon children's views and wishes wherever appropriate.

Undertaking key worker responsibilities and maintaining high-quality daily records under the supervision of team leaders and managers.

Performing sleep-in duties on a rota basis and demonstrating working flexibility to suit the needs of the service (including evenings, weekends, and holiday periods).

Transporting young people to education, scheduled activities, and external appointments.

Assisting with the day-to-day running of the home, including meal preparation, maintaining clean living spaces, managing household budgets, and assisting with rota cover.

Providing direction, advice, and formal 1-to-1 supervision to support workers.

Managing risk and understanding trauma and adverse childhood experiences to respond effectively to challenging behaviours.

Key Requirements

Licence: Must possess a full UK driving licence.

Experience: Minimum of 12 months working in a residential children's home or similar setting.

Qualifications: Good standard of applied literacy and numeracy, with a commitment to achieve or hold an NVQ/Diploma Level 3 in Caring for Children and Young People (or equivalent).

Vetting: Must be willing to complete an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and provide at least two satisfactory professional references.
