Wiltshire College & University Centre is seeking an exceptional and inspiring Head of Faculty to lead our high-profile curriculum portfolio across English, Mathematics and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).

Working across our campuses in Chippenham, Lackham, Salisbury and Trowbridge, you will play a pivotal role in shaping an inclusive, ambitious and high-performing learning community. Our modern facilities and industry-focused learning environments provide an outstanding platform for learners of all ages and backgrounds to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to achieve their goals.

With a strong county-wide presence, excellent transport links and established partnerships with local communities, employers and industry, the college is uniquely positioned to influence and enhance the delivery of English, Maths and ESOL education across Wiltshire. Working closely with the Executive Director and campus leadership teams, you will provide strategic leadership for the faculty, ensuring an outstanding learner experience and contributing to the continued success and growth of the college. You will champion excellence in teaching, learning and assessment, promote curriculum innovation and develop a culture of collaboration, inclusion and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do

• Set the strategic vision for English, Maths and ESOL provision, driving growth, quality and innovation across all programmes.
• Lead curriculum development aligned to learner needs, regional skills priorities and national education policy.
• Ensure outstanding teaching, learning and assessment that delivers high levels of achievement and progression.
• Champion inclusive practice, widening participation and improved outcomes for learners from diverse backgrounds.
• Develop and strengthen partnerships with schools, employers, community organisations and external stakeholders to enhance opportunities for learners.
• Drive financial sustainability through effective planning, resource management and curriculum efficiency.
• Lead and inspire multidisciplinary teams, embedding a culture of excellence, accountability and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Bring

• A qualified teacher (Level 5 or above) with extensive teaching experience.
• A proven track record of successful curriculum leadership within Further Education or a similar setting.
• Significant experience leading English, Maths and/or ESOL provision and driving improvements in learner outcomes.
• Strong understanding of Ofsted frameworks, funding methodologies and performance measures.
• A passion for inclusive education and supporting learners from varied backgrounds and abilities.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
• Strategic thinking with a focus on innovation, growth and responsiveness to local and national skills priorities.
