Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging and effective English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
Assess, monitor, and track student attainment, providing timely feedback to support development
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of students of varying abilities
Foster a love of reading, writing, and literature both inside and outside the classroom
Contribute to curriculum development and departmental improvement initiatives
Maintain high expectations for behaviour, attendance, and academic achievement
Participate in school events, enrichment activities, and wider departmental responsibilitiesRequirements
The ideal candidate will have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting
Strong subject knowledge across English Language and English Literature
A proven ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that inspire students
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
High expectations of student achievement and conduct
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
