Gas Service Engineer / Meter Installer
Adecco Workington are recruiting for our client, based in Cumbria, who are looking to recruit a permanent, full-time Gas Service Engineer / Meter Installer. The role is home-based but will cover Carlisle and the surrounding areas.
We are looking to recruit an engaging and proactive Gas Engineer to provide engineering services and emergency response support to customers across Carlisle and the surrounding areas.
We are ideally looking for a Smart Meter or Gas Meter Installer who would like to retrain in the servicing and maintenance of LPG tanks, pipework and associated equipment. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
Installing and maintaining bulk LPG tanks and associated assets at customer sites
Travelling throughout the region to meet customer service standards, primarily serving rural customers. A company van and fuel will be provided
Participating in a standby rota to respond to gas emergencies outside normal working hours. Additional rates of pay apply
About You
ACS Gas Qualified
Full UK manual driving licence
Experience providing excellent customer service
Relevant gas engineering experience would be advantageous
Knowledge of LPG and the installation and maintenance of bulk LPG tanks and cylinders would be beneficial
Good understanding of relevant legislation, industry standards and Health & Safety requirements
Ability to follow procedures and instructions accurately
Willingness to undertake specialist industry trainingAs part of our field-based engineering team, you will receive comprehensive training and support to develop the skills and knowledge required for installation, maintenance and emergency response activities. This includes preparation to support a 24/7 emergency response service, which is a key part of the role.
Salary & Benefits
£32,900 to £35,000 per annum, plus benefits
