Mechanical Site Manager (Construction Manager)

Location: Central London
Salary: £70,000 - £75,000 per annum + Comprehensive Benefits Package

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Site Manager (Construction Manager) to join a leading M&E contractor delivering high-value commercial fit-out projects across Central London. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically biased construction professional with a proven track record of successfully managing site operations on fast-paced commercial fit-out projects.

You will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical installation works from start to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Manage all mechanical site activities on commercial fit-out projects.
Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, direct labour, and specialist suppliers.
Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with programme, specifications, and quality standards.
Monitor health & safety compliance and maintain a safe working environment at all times.
Attend and lead site progress meetings with clients, consultants, and project teams.
Coordinate mechanical works alongside electrical, architectural, and other trades.
Identify and resolve site issues to minimise delays and maintain project progress.
Review drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
Manage inspections, testing, commissioning, and handover processes.
Produce site reports and maintain accurate project records.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Mechanical Site Manager or Mechanical Construction Manager.
Strong background delivering commercial fit-out projects (Cat A and Cat B).
Previous experience working for reputable M&E contractors or main contractors.
Demonstrable history of employment stability, with an average tenure of at least 1–2 years per employer or evidence of long-term commitment within previous roles.
Excellent knowledge of mechanical building services installations.
Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple subcontractors.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
SMSTS certification (essential).
CSCS Card (essential).
First Aid at Work (preferred).
Strong understanding of current Health & Safety regulations.
