Our dedicated SEND school in the Stoke on Trent area is looking for a compassionate, proactive full time SEND Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team.

Your Key Responsibilities

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

* Provide 1:1 and small‑group support tailored to pupils’ individual needs

* Assist teachers with delivering adapted and engaging learning activities

* Help pupils regulate their emotions, build confidence, and develop independence

* Support EHCP‑led targets and personalised learning plans

* Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment

* Build strong, trust‑based relationships with pupils

* Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support professionals

What We’re Looking For

We’d love to hear from you if you are:

* Patient, empathetic, and passionate about supporting SEND learners

* Able to adapt your approach to meet a range of needs

* A strong communicator who works well within a team

* Reliable, nurturing, and enthusiastic

* Experienced in working with SEND pupils or with a care setting

* Qualified to Level 2/3 in Teaching Support or equivalent (desirable but not required for the right candidate)

All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.

The role advertised is for temporary supply work.
