NEW VACANCY - QUALITY TECHNICIAN

Are you an experienced Quality Technician, Quality Control Technician, Quality Auditor, Quality Controller, Quality Inspector, QC Inspector, QC Technician or QA Inspector seeking a new job opportunity?!

We are looking for a Quality Technician to join a leading manufacturing business in Telford (Shropshire), the working hours are day shifts Monday to Friday (36.25 per week with flexi start and finish times) and the role comes with an annual salary between £35,000 - £40,000 per annum (DOE).

The hiring manager is ideally looking for someone who holds a Degree, HNC or HND in Chemistry, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline, and someone who has proven laboratory experience in packaging materials testing.

We are looking for someone who has strong knowledge of regulatory compliance for packaging materials (e.g., food contact, BRC, etc.) and experience performing regulatory assessments.

What You Will Do:

Lead technical evaluation and quality assurance for packaging materials and production processes.
Design and run R&D trials, then document results and recommendations to drive improvements in functionality and manufacturability.
Carry out physical, chemical, and sensory/odour testing, keeping accurate records and producing clear technical/quality reports.
Support customer quality certificates and investigate complaints using a root cause approach, ensuring timely corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, including risk assessments such as COSHH where required.
Act as a technical point of contact for suppliers and coordinate support for trials, scale-up activity, and day-to-day quality matters.
What You Will Bring:

A degree or HND in chemistry, materials science, polymer science, chemical engineering, or a closely related discipline (PREFERRED)
Proven laboratory and analytical experience, ideally within packaging materials testing.
Knowledge of regulatory compliance for packaging materials (for example, food contact and BRC) and experience with regulatory testing or assessments.
Demonstrable skills in complaint investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action follow-through.
Confidence producing Technical Data Sheets, Declarations of Compliance, and formal technical reports, alongside strong MS Office ability.
In this Quality Technician position, your work directly supports the company's continuous improvement culture: building reliable processes, strengthening supplier quality, and helping teams deliver accurate documentation and trustworthy product performance. The focus is practical, collaborative, and customer-led, ensuring every trial, test result, and corrective action contributes to better outcomes across operations.
