Principal Geotechnical Engineer

A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join a well-established multidisciplinary consultancy in Glasgow. This role will see you leading geotechnical projects across the minerals and quarrying sector, providing technical expertise on a range of challenging developments throughout the UK.
The successful Principal Geotechnical Engineer will manage projects from feasibility through to detailed design, undertaking geotechnical assessments, slope stability analysis, quarry design, earthworks and foundation assessments. You will provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, liaise directly with clients and regulators, and play a key role in developing long-term client relationships within the minerals industry.
You will be involved in:
Leading geotechnical projects within the minerals and quarrying sector.
Quarry slope stability assessments and design.
Geotechnical interpretation and reporting.
Planning and supervising ground investigations.
Earthworks and rock engineering assessments.
Client management and business development.
Mentoring and reviewing the work of junior engineers.
Working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver technically robust solutions.To be considered, you should have:
A degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology or Geotechnical Engineering.
Significant consultancy experience within geotechnical engineering.
Strong knowledge of quarrying, mining or minerals projects.
Experience producing detailed geotechnical design reports.
Chartered status (CEng or equivalent), or be working towards it.
Excellent communication and project management skills.
