A fantastic opportunity to support Archie, a bright and energetic 6-year-old with Sensory Processing Disorder and ADHD, as he settles into one of the UK's leading independent preparatory schools. Term-time role, with potential for additional holiday hours. £17.00 to £19.00 gross per hour.

* Salary/Wage: £17.00 to £19.00 gross per hour, depending on experience.
* Driving Requirements: Driver with own car is required, as the school is not easily accessible by public transport.
* Essential: Experience working with children in an education, childcare, therapy, sports coaching or similar setting.
* Desirable: Experience supporting children with SEN, including ADHD, ASC and/or Sensory Processing Difficulties.

About the Child: Archie is a confident and outgoing 6-year-old boy with a wonderful sense of humour and an infectious enthusiasm for life. Full of energy and imagination, he enjoys spending time outdoors, climbing, cycling, scootering, building with ego, drawing and taking on new adventures. Naturally sociable, Archie thrives in the company of others and responds particularly well to people who bring warmth, humour and plenty of encouragement. Archie has Sensory Processing Disorder and is currently undergoing assessment for ADHD. Like many children with sensory and attention difficulties, he can sometimes find busy classroom environments overwhelming and benefits from thoughtful support to help him feel settled, confident and ready to learn. Archie and his family will be relocating to Oxfordshire this summer, marking the start of an exciting new chapter as he prepares to join one of the UK's leading independent preparatory schools this September.
The Role at a Glance: This role is centred on providing one-to-one support throughout the school morning, helping Archie settle confidently into his new school environment and make the most of everything it has to offer. Working alongside the school's experienced staff, you'll help Archie navigate transitions, maintain focus in the classroom and recognise when movement or sensory breaks may be beneficial. Throughout the day, you'll adapt your approach to meet his needs while encouraging his independence, confidence and enjoyment of school. You'll become a valued member of the wider school team, working collaboratively to help Archie thrive both socially and academically. The position is expected to continue until at least Easter 2027, with every expectation that support will be required for the duration of the academic year. During term time, the hours are 8:00am to 1:00pm, although Archie is not expected to arrive at school until 8:30am, allowing time for a calm and organised start to the morning. As the school is located approximately a 30-minute walk from Cholsey station, a driver with their own car is essential due to the rural location.

Experience supporting children with SEN, ADHD, autism or sensory processing difficulties would be highly beneficial, although candidates from education, childcare, sports coaching or similar backgrounds with a genuine passion for helping children thrive are equally encouraged to apply.
