An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Support Engineer to join a successful and growing manufacturing business based in Cheltenham. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in quality assurance within an engineering or manufacturing environment who is passionate about continuous improvement and delivering exceptional product quality.
Working as part of the Quality team, you will play a key role in supporting quality systems, driving process improvements, investigating quality issues, and helping to reduce defects and the Cost of Poor Quality. You'll work closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure products consistently meet customer and business expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Support and maintain quality management systems and procedures.
Investigate quality issues using structured problem-solving techniques such as 8D, 5 Whys and Fishbone.
Assist with root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
Carry out internal audits, process inspections and Factory Production Control audits.
Support customer complaint investigations and quality improvement initiatives.
Perform incoming goods inspections and in-process quality checks.
Produce dimensional inspection reports (ISIRs).
Maintain the calibration system, ensuring all measuring equipment is calibrated on time.
Analyse quality data and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Work collaboratively across production, engineering and supply chain teams to improve quality performance.
Promote a proactive quality culture throughout the business.
About You
You'll have experience in a quality role within manufacturing or engineering and enjoy solving problems while driving improvements.
You'll ideally have:
Experience in a Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering position.
Knowledge of quality tools including 8D, 5 Whys and Root Cause Analysis.
Experience using precision measuring equipment and metrology techniques.
Internal Auditor experience (ISO 9001 or equivalent preferred).
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Good Microsoft Office skills (ERP system experience is advantageous).
Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work across multiple departments.
A positive, proactive approach and a genuine passion for quality.
