Freelance Site Engineer – Highways Scheme
Location: Brighouse, West Yorkshire
Rate: £320 - £350 per day
Duration: 6+ Months
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to join a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering a major highways improvement scheme in Brighouse.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on a significant infrastructure project, taking responsibility for setting out, quality assurance and supporting the successful delivery of the works.
The Role
Reporting to the Site Agent, you will play a key role in the day-to-day delivery of the project, ensuring works are completed safely, accurately and to programme.
Key Responsibilities
Setting out for highways, drainage, earthworks and associated civil engineering works.
Carrying out site surveys using GPS and robotic total stations.
Producing and maintaining accurate setting out records.
Checking line, level and dimensional control throughout construction.
Ensuring works are completed in accordance with drawings and specifications.
Assisting with QA documentation, inspection records and as-built surveys.
Liaising with the Site Manager, subcontractors and design team.
Supporting health & safety standards across the project.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Site Engineer on highways or civil engineering projects.
Strong setting out experience using Leica or Trimble equipment.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
CSCS Card (essential).
SMSTS or SSSTS (desirable).
