Astute's Power team is partnering with an energy company to recruit a Plant Manager / SAP for its Biomass site in Lincolnshire.

The Plant Manager comes with a salary up to £70,000 + benefits package.

Responsibilities and duties of the Plant Manager role

Reporting to the Operations Director you will:

· Take overall responsibility for the safe, efficient and compliant operation of the CHP plant.

· Act as the Senior Authorised Person (SAP) for electrical systems and switching operations.

· Lead and develop operations, maintenance and engineering teams to achieve high performance standards.

· Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental and engineering regulations.

· Manage statutory inspections, Written Schemes of Examination and asset integrity programmes.

· Oversee planned outages, maintenance activities and contractor performance.

· Drive plant reliability, efficiency and availability through effective operational management.

· Manage site budgets, expenditure and operational performance against agreed targets.

· Ensure environmental permits and compliance obligations are maintained at all times.

· Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, efficiency and commercial performance.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

· Fully qualified Senior Authorised Person (SAP), any High Voltage switching experience is a bonus.

· Degree, HNC or HND qualified in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

· BOAS Manager accreditation and extensive experience managing industrial boiler and steam systems highly desirable, or relevant hands on experience

· Strong knowledge of statutory regulations including PSSR, LOLER, DSEAR, PUWER, Electricity at Work Regulations and Environmental Permitting requirements.

Personal Skills

The Plant Manager role would suit someone who is:

· A confident and visible leader who can motivate and develop multidisciplinary teams.

· Calm and decisive under pressure, with excellent technical judgement and problem-solving skills.

· Committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance and operational excellence.
