Bright Star Talent is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a 'Good' Ofsted-rated specialist school in Bootle, Liverpool, for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a welcoming and inclusive school with an outstanding support team, where staff work collaboratively to ensure every child receives the individual support they need to succeed. You'll be supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, making a genuine difference to their education and personal development.

About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with teachers and specialist staff to provide tailored support for pupils with a variety of Special Educational Needs, including:

* Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

* Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)

* Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

* Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs

Your role will include both one-to-one and small group support, helping pupils access learning while building confidence, independence and essential life skills.

Key Responsibilities

* Support pupils in the classroom and during therapeutic or practical activities.

* Adapt learning resources to meet individual needs.

* Encourage communication, engagement and social interaction.

* Implement behaviour support strategies and positive reinforcement.

* Assist with personal care where required (training provided if necessary).

* Monitor and record pupil progress.

* Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.

* Promote a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

We're Looking For

* Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs.

* Knowledge of ASD, PMLD, ADHD or SEMH is desirable.

* A caring, patient and resilient approach.

* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

* A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.

* Relevant qualifications are beneficial but not essential.
