Are you a caring, patient and passionate Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?

We are currently recruiting for multiple SEND Teaching Assistant roles across mainstream primary schools in Sheffield. These rewarding opportunities are ideal for individuals who are committed to helping every child reach their full potential and thrive within the classroom environment.

Whether you have experience supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH needs, speech and language difficulties, or additional learning needs, we would love to hear from you.

The Role:

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to provide tailored support for pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small group settings. Your role will be to help create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment where children feel supported, safe and confident.

Responsibilities:

Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs within mainstream primary settings
Delivering 1:1 and small group interventions
Assisting with classroom learning and promoting engagement
Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff and parents
Helping to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment
Previous experience working with children with SEND in schools, care, youth work or similar settings
A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
A genuine passion for supporting children’s development and wellbeing
A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential
Multiple opportunities across Sheffield primary schools
Flexible full-time and part-time roles to suit your availability
