Job Introduction

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Turning Point Complex Needs Team as a Team Leader.

At Turning Point, we support people across England with mental health issues. As a Team Leader you’ll make a real difference to their lives as you introduce them to the personal, flexible and realistic support they need to improve the quality of their lives in their communities. Passionate about people, you’ll enjoy the scope and support to enhance your own life and career too as you gain the experience, training and education you need to progress in your career with us.

Hertfordshire Complex Needs Service offer short term, free and flexible service and work in partnership with specialist housing teams and health and wellbeing services to Hertfordshire residents. We provide support to individuals who are 18 years old and over who have diagnosed or self-reporting mental health needs as well as co-occurring health, wellbeing & social issues.

We visit people in their own homes or meet at community locations across the area and working together we design a support package with goals that evolve with people’s changing needs and wishes. We offer high quality support to help people take control, improve the quality of their lives and face the future with confidence. No matter how complex a person’s needs, whether they’ve tried support services or not in the past, we can provide person-centred support that helps individuals decrease isolation, increase independence, learn new skills, integrate into the community and make the most of every new opportunity.

Main Responsibilities

As a Team Leader you will support the development of the service alongside the Operations Manager and other managers, providing line management to a team of Recovery Workers, enabling the service to meet and exceed outcomes and quality requirements that promote independence and recovery for the individuals we support.

You will be responsible for coordinating triage and you will work closely with service seniors and triage workers to drive quality and risk management.

You will ensure Turning Point’s vision and values are embedded in the team and will work closely within our multi-disciplinary team, to ensure the best possible outcomes for the people we support. Part of the role will also involve working closely with local partners and stakeholders to enhance the effectiveness of the service.

The Ideal Candidate

You will have a proven track record of leading and supporting a team, with experience of delivering supervision and appraisal, as well as being able to guide and support staff to achieve the best outcomes for the people we support.

An effective team player, you will possess great communication skills, a flexible recovery focussed approach, a positive attitude and be able to adapt in a changeable environment.

You’ll understand co-occurring issues, as well as complex housing issues individuals may face.

Having substantial knowledge and/or experience of current treatment and support pathways options would also be advantageous.

About Us

As a leading health and social care provider with more than 300 locations across England, we take real pride in the services we offer.

We run all of our services on a not-for-profit basis; instead, we invest every penny back into our services and people. We never stop believing in change for the better, and we work constantly to improve the lives of the people we support.

What Benefits Will I Receive?

We know reward looks different to each person and so whether its ways to make your money go further, a culture supporting recognition and celebration, or opportunities to boost your career – we want to support you in every way we can with our total reward package.

You will get 31 days’ paid holiday a year, increasing with each year of service up to 33 days. Plus the option to buy additional holidays and spread the cost.
