An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health and Safety Officer to join a growing and forward-thinking manufacturing business in Holme-on-Spalding-Moor. The company is actively investing in its site, people and systems, offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety professional to play a key role in driving standards and embedding a strong safety culture across the site.
This role would suit a Health and Safety professional who has experience working within an industrial, engineering, manufacturing or FMCG environment and is confident operating both on the shop floor and at a systems level. You will work closely with engineering and production teams, supporting the implementation of robust health and safety procedures and ensuring the highest standards are maintained across the site.
The business is continuing to grow, offering genuine scope for development, career progression and increased responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
Drive and maintain high standards of Health & Safety across the site
Support engineering and production teams with Health & Safety matters
Conduct regular site inspections and ensure compliance with company procedures
Review and support the implementation of risk assessments and safe working practices
Investigate incidents and accidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
Support the development and embedding of a strong Health & Safety culture
Ensure Health & Safety legislation, policies and procedures are adhered to
Provide guidance and support to employees and managers across the business
Support the business with ongoing site expansion, new equipment and future development projects
Act as a key point of contact for Health & Safety across the site
Step in to support the Manager when required

Non-Negotiable Requirements for the Health and Safety Officer
Previous experience working in a Health & Safety role within a manufacturing, industrial, engineering or FMCG environment
Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and workplace procedures
Experience operating confidently on the shop floor as well as at a systems level
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work proactively and independently within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Requirements for the Health and Safety Officer
Experience conducting risk assessments and reviewing RAMS
Experience investigating incidents and accidents
Ability to deliver Health & Safety guidance, support and training
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
Ability to build strong working relationships with engineering, production and management teams
Confident challenging unsafe working practices when required
A hands-on approach with the ability to drive improvements across the site
Desirable Requirements for the Health and Safety Officer
NEBOSH or IOSH qualification
Experience within an FMCG or automated manufacturing environment
Experience supporting new equipment installation and site expansion projects
Experience with continuous improvement initiatives
Previous experience deputising for a Health & Safety Manager or similar senior position
