Hays Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Barnet to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) for a September 2026 start.This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting young people and helping students overcome barriers to learning. The school is seeking a caring and proactive professional who can provide academic and pastoral support to students, enabling them to achieve their full potential both in and out of the classroom.
Your new role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the wider SEN team to provide targeted support to students with a range of learning needs.You will support students in lessons, help to adapt learning activities where appropriate, and contribute to creating a positive, inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.
What you'll need to succeed
Support students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons
Help students develop confidence, independence, and resilience
Support pupils with SEND, including those with additional learning needs
Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
Contribute to the wider pastoral and academic support of students
