The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing team delivering planned refurbishment and void property programmes within the social housing sector. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a long-term framework agreement, taking commercial responsibility for projects from procurement through to final account.
The role offers a blend of office, home, and site-based working, providing the opportunity to work closely with operational teams and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, profitably, and to the highest standards.
Projects include a variety of internal and external refurbishment works such as:
Kitchen and bathroom replacements
Roofing renewals
Electrical upgrades
Heating installations
Window and door replacements
Void property refurbishment works
What You'll Be Doing
As Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of multiple refurbishment and maintenance contracts. Responsibilities will include:
Monitoring contract performance and reporting on changes affecting cost, programme, or risk
Working closely with Contract Managers to define project specifications and requirements
Procuring and managing subcontractors throughout project lifecycles
Valuing and authorising subcontractor payments
Assisting with budget control and cost management
Preparing and maintaining project cash flow forecasts
Producing and submitting monthly valuations and applications for payment
Raising invoices and ensuring timely receipt of payments
Developing strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and colleagues
Supporting procurement activities and subcontractor selection
Assisting with the preparation and submission of tenders, estimates, and bids
Attending commercial and client meetings as required

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within refurbishment, maintenance, or construction projects
Experience in social housing refurbishment programmes (desirable but not essential)
Strong commercial awareness and cost management skills
Experience managing subcontract procurement and valuation processes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities
Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularlyA DBS check will be required for this position.
