Our client Wigan Council is looking for a Duty Team Manager to join their Duty and Assessments service.
The nature of the work within the Duty and Assessment Service is fast-paced and dynamic. As a manager of one of the Duty Teams, you will work closely with the five existing Duty Teams to ensure effective service delivery. You will be responsible for driving good practice across the service, supporting a team of social workers in managing complex and high-risk cases, and ensuring that safeguarding standards are consistently met.
Within the Duty Service we complete the initial Children and Family assessments in a timely manner. You are responsible for ensuring children and families receive the right support at the right time. The Duty Service hold a varying complexity of cases, families transfer points include the initial child protection case conference, the first CLA review, the first PLO meeting and the 3rd Child In Need meeting.
As one of our Team Managers you will have excellent knowledge of underpinning legislative frameworks and legal proceedings. You will ensure the delivery of a high quality and effective social work practice to support, empower and promote independence, strengths and assets of both children and families within their local communities.
You will work in partnership with children, young people and parents to help them engage with the process and aspire to good outcomes for all.
