Our client is a well-established pharmaceutical manufacturer operating a 24/7 MHRA and FDA-regulated production facility in the UK. The organisation specialises in the manufacture of Oral Solid Dosage (OSD) products and has built a strong reputation for quality, compliance and supply reliability. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Supply Planner to join their operations team.
The Role
This is a key position responsible for planning and coordinating production across a continuous pharmaceutical manufacturing operation. Reporting into the Supply Chain function, the successful candidate will develop and manage production schedules, ensure material availability, optimise manufacturing campaigns and work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver uninterrupted product supply.
Key responsibilities include:
• Developing and managing short and long-term Master Production Schedules (MPS) aligned with customer demand.
• Planning and optimising production campaigns to maximise capacity utilisation and minimise changeovers.
• Executing Material Requirements Planning (MRP) activities to ensure timely availability of raw materials and packaging components.
• Monitoring inventory levels and proactively resolving material shortages.
• Coordinating production plans with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Procurement, Regulatory Affairs and Warehouse teams.
• Incorporating maintenance schedules, QA release timelines and batch documentation requirements into production plans.
• Coordinating inbound and outbound logistics with third-party providers and packaging partners.
• Supporting S&OP and Supply Review meetings and monitoring key performance indicators including OTIF, schedule adherence and inventory performance.
• Ensuring all planning activities comply with GMP, GDP and regulatory requirements.
The Person
To be successful in this role, you will have:
• 7-10 years' recent experience in Supply Planning within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
• Essential experience within Oral Solid Dosage (OSD) manufacturing.
• Experience working within an MHRA/FDA-regulated GMP manufacturing facility.
• Strong knowledge of Master Production Scheduling (MPS), MRP, capacity planning, inventory management and SAP.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple functions.
• The legal right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available for this position).
