Order Processing & Sales Administration | Genuine Progression into Account Management | Fully Office-Based
Our client is a growing, highly specialised UK manufacturer supplying complex, technically demanding products into sectors including defence and aerospace. As the business continues to scale, and with a modern CRM system being rolled out across its commercial team, a newly created opportunity has arisen for an organised, proactive Internal Sales Administrator to join its Account Management function.
This is a central, high-volume, fast-paced role at the heart of the order-to-delivery process, providing the administrative backbone that allows the Account Management team to focus on relationship management and account growth.
The Role
● Process incoming customer orders accurately and promptly onto internal systems, ensuring all order details and commercial terms are correctly captured.
● Enter and maintain sales order information on internal systems, including the company's order-loading system and CRM system as it is rolled out.
● Ensure Supply Chain and Production always have clear, timely visibility of material requirements arising from confirmed orders.
● Support Account Managers with internal order status queries and coordination, ensuring a smooth handover of orders from quotation through to fulfilment.
● Maintain accurate, auditable records of orders, amendments and cancellations.
● Identify and flag discrepancies, such as pricing errors, stock shortfalls or delivery risk, escalating promptly.
● Produce regular order status and administrative reports for the Sales and Operations teams.
About You
This role would suit an experienced sales administrator, order processor or customer service professional from a manufacturing, engineering or technical environment, looking for a busy, high-volume role with genuine long-term development potential.
● Previous experience in sales administration, order processing or customer service within a manufacturing, engineering or technical environment.
● Experience using a CRM, ERP or MRP system for order processing; experience with a well-known CRM platform or a system such as Epicor is welcome.
● High level of accuracy and attention to detail, and genuine comfort with high-volume, repetitive data entry, order books here typically run into the hundreds of jobs each month.
● Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (intermediate level or above).
● A confident, proactive communicator, comfortable liaising with Account Managers, Supply Chain and Production colleagues and chasing information internally.
● Calm under pressure, highly organised and process driven.
The Package
● £25,000 - £32,000 base salary, dependent on experience
● Standard company benefits package, including pension and life assurance
● Fully office-based role, Monday to Friday
