Location: Newcastle
Working pattern: Hybrid (3 days per week onsite)

Please note: This role requires eligibility for BPSS and SC Security Clearance, including 5 years' continuous UK residency.

The Role

We're looking for a Data Engineer to join a growing technology team delivering cloud and data solutions across a range of complex projects.

You'll design and build scalable data pipelines, work with modern cloud technologies, and collaborate with engineers, analysts and product teams to deliver high-quality data solutions that support analytics and AI.

Key Responsibilities

. Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines
. Develop Real Time and batch data processing solutions
. Work with AWS cloud services and modern data technologies
. Support CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code
. Collaborate within Agile teams and contribute to engineering best practices

Skills & Experience

. 3+ years' commercial experience in Data Engineering
. Strong Java or Python development skills
. Experience with Kafka, Flink or Spark
. Experience building ETL/ELT or streaming data pipelines
. Knowledge of AWS (Azure or GCP also considered)
. Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD tools
. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform

Desirable

. Experience with Databricks, Snowflake or BigQuery
. Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure or GCP)
. Experience mentoring junior engineers or working in a consulting environment
