Senior Solution Architect

Location: London (50% onsite)
Contract: Inside IR35
Rate: £450
Duration: Initial contract (6 months) with potential extension
Security Clearance: Active SC Clearance required

We're looking for an experienced Senior Solution Architect to join a major transformation programme within a highly secure enterprise environment. This role is ideal for someone with a strong infrastructure architecture background who has successfully delivered large-scale transition and transformation projects, including data centre and application migrations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of infrastructure solutions across complex IT transformation programmes.
• Produce high and low-level solution designs to support strategic technology initiatives.
• Drive data centre and application migration activities from discovery through to implementation.
• Provide technical governance, oversight and architectural guidance throughout project delivery.
• Manage technical risks, issues and dependencies while ensuring successful delivery.
• Conduct discovery workshops and assess existing environments to define target-state architectures.
• Collaborate with multiple suppliers, technical teams and senior stakeholders to coordinate successful implementations.
• Support operational readiness, service transition and Legacy service decommissioning activities.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Extensive experience as a Solution Architect, Infrastructure Architect or Technical Architect.
• Proven expertise designing enterprise infrastructure solutions.
• Strong experience delivering data centre and application migration programmes.
• Background in large-scale IT transition and transformation projects.
• Excellent understanding of technical governance, architecture standards and solution design.
• Experience managing technical risks, dependencies and complex stakeholder environments.
• Strong project and programme delivery experience.
• Ability to work effectively across multi-supplier environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Active SC Clearance.

Desirable Experience

• Banking or Financial Services experience.
• Hybrid Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
• Legacy system decommissioning.
• Audit and technical due diligence activities.
• Knowledge of DMZ architecture.
