Pay Rate: £450 per day (Inside IR35)
Are you a Quantity Surveyor looking for a long-term contract opportunity where you can genuinely influence the successful delivery of major infrastructure projects?
We're supporting a leading UK infrastructure organisation in the search for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a commercial team delivering a portfolio of high-value projects across the Southwest. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex infrastructure schemes, support key project stakeholders, and take ownership of commercial activities from early-stage delivery through to completion.
The Role
You'll provide commercial and quantity surveying support across a portfolio of infrastructure projects, working closely with Project Managers, delivery teams and contractors to ensure projects are delivered effectively, commercially managed and compliant with contractual requirements.
This role would suit someone who is confident working independently, building relationships with project stakeholders and taking ownership of their workload.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Quantity Surveying and commercial support across multiple infrastructure projects.
- Administer and manage NEC contracts.
- Review project costs, budgets, forecasts and contractor submissions.
- Support Project Managers with commercial advice and decision-making.
- Monitor project spend and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
- Assist with contract communications, change management and contractor engagement.
- Build strong working relationships with project teams and supply chain partners.
- Support cost assurance, risk management and reporting activities.
- Attend project sites as required to maintain stakeholder relationships and project oversight.
About You
We're keen to speak with candidates who have:
- Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor or Commercial QS.
- Infrastructure, utilities, civil engineering or major construction project experience.
- NEC contract experience (any option considered).
- Strong commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience supporting Project Managers and wider delivery teams.
- The ability to work independently and manage priorities with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Desirable Experience
- Utilities or energy sector experience.
- Client-side project experience.
- Experience working for Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractors.
- Exposure to cost assurance, project controls or risk management activities.
- Chartered status or professional membership.
