Do you have a passion for supporting young people with additional needs?

We are seeking a dedicated Aspiring Child Counsellor/SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a specialist provision within a mainstream secondary school based in Epsom. This role is ideal for anyone interested in becoming a Child Counsellor, as well as individuals with experience in education, care, or youth work, alongside recent or soon-to-be Psychology, Criminology, or Sociology graduates.

About the Role

As an Aspiring Child Counsellor/LSA, you will support pupils with moderate learning difficulties in a structured and nurturing environment. This position in Epsom offers valuable, hands-on experience for an Aspiring Child Counsellor, providing exposure to emotional support, behaviour management, and therapeutic approaches.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs
Support emotional regulation and wellbeing
Assist with a personalised and flexible curriculum
Work closely with teachers and SEN professionals
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
Help create a safe and supportive learning environmentWho This Role Would Suit

Individuals looking to become a Child Counsellor
Teaching Assistants or those with SEN experience
Candidates from care, youth work, or support work backgrounds
Graduates in Psychology, Criminology, or Sociology
Anyone passionate about supporting children's mental health and development

Practical experience supporting children with SEN and SEMH needs
Exposure to therapeutic approaches such as Thrive and emotional literacy support
Experience working alongside multidisciplinary teams
A strong foundation for careers in counselling, psychology, or education

**Start date ASAP or September, trial days taking place to ensure the role and school is right for you
**Fantastic on-site training, support and CPD is provided to ensure safeguarding of all pupils
**Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 15:30, PAYE, term time only
**£93-£105 per day
**You MUST have right to work in the UK in order to apply - no Visa sponsorship
