We are seeking a Laboratory Support Associate to join a highly specialised Advanced Materials laboratory in London. Working across cleanroom and research facilities, you will play a key role in ensuring the laboratories remain safe, compliant, and fully operational, supporting pioneering research and development.

This is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced laboratory environment. You will work closely with scientists, engineers and laboratory teams, providing essential support across laboratory operations, specialist equipment, chemical and gas management, waste handling and Health & Safety activities. You'll also have the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance laboratory efficiency and sustainability.

Experience Required

Essential Experience

* Minimum of 2 years' experience in a laboratory support, laboratory technician or laboratory facilities role.

* Previous experience working within a cleanroom or semiconductor/materials science environment.

* Hands-on experience supporting or operating CVD, PVD or ALD process equipment.

* Experience handling nanomaterials or engineered particles while following containment protocols.

Technical Skills

* Proficient in the safe handling and segregated storage of flammable, toxic and corrosive chemicals.

* Confident changing and connecting compressed gas cylinders (inert and non-hazardous).

* Familiar with the safe handling and use of liquid nitrogen (cryogens).

* Basic operation and first-line maintenance of laboratory vacuum and cooling systems.

* Experience using a chemical inventory management system or LIMS.

* Understanding of laboratory glassware washing, drying and siliconisation procedures.

* Strong understanding of laboratory Health & Safety, COSHH and safe working practices.

* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads in a busy laboratory environment.

* A proactive, collaborative approach with excellent communication skills.

Salary & Benefits

Monday to Friday working hours: 8:30am – 5:00pm.
