Sue Ross Recruitment are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a Temporary Information Governance & Corporate Complaints Officer to join a busy and professional team for an initial period of approximately three months.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Information Governance, Data Protection or Complaints professional seeking a varied role with responsibility for supporting key organisational workstreams. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with information governance legislation, managing statutory processes and supporting the effective resolution of corporate complaints.
Working as part of a specialist team, you will:
* Support the development, implementation and review of information governance policies, procedures and guidance.
* Provide advice and support on information governance matters, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practice.
* Assist with the management of Subject Access Requests (SARs) and other individual rights requests under data protection legislation.
* Support the handling of Freedom of Information (FOI) and Environmental Information Regulation (EIR) requests.
* Coordinate and support the end-to-end corporate complaints process, including complex and escalated cases.
* Ensure complaints are investigated thoroughly and resolved fairly, proportionately and in line with organisational standards.
* Work collaboratively with stakeholders across the organisation to promote good information governance and complaint handling practices.
* Contribute to awareness-raising initiatives and continuous service improvement activities.
Sue Ross Recruitment are interested in hearing from candidates who have experience within Information Governance, Data Protection, FOI, Complaints Handling or a related discipline, particularly within the public sector.
You will possess:
* Strong working knowledge of UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and associated ICO guidance.
* Practical experience dealing with Subject Access Requests (SARs) and other data protection rights requests.
* Understanding of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) and Environmental Information Regulations (EIR).
* Experience of managing information governance, data protection matters or corporate complaints within a public sector or regulated environment.
* Strong investigation, problem-solving and communication skills.
* The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
* A proactive and collaborative approach with a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
