A client of ours in Colchester, Essex are recruiting a Procurement Specialist to join their team ASAP. This is a full-time temporary position working Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, with an negotiable depending on experience.
Your key duties in this Procurement Specialist role will include but are not limited to:
Managing supplier performance, ensuring on-time deliveries and maintaining outstanding purchase orders.
Managing supplier relationships, RFQs, pricing negotiations and minimum order quantities to achieve cost savings.
Developing sourcing strategies, implementing supplier KPIs and identifying opportunities for rebate schemes and improved payment terms.
Working with Engineering to manage component obsolescence, last-time buys and identify alternative components to reduce cost and lead times.
Negotiating supplier agreements including consignment stock and safety stock arrangements to improve supply chain efficiency.
Monitoring supplier performance against quality, delivery and pricing KPIs, implementing improvements where required.
Conducting market analysis to identify new sourcing opportunities and maintain competitive pricing.
Managing procurement documentation, supplier due diligence and maintaining accurate purchasing records.
Collaborating with internal departments to ensure materials are purchased in line with production schedules and customer demand.
Identifying and qualifying alternative suppliers to minimise supply chain risks and improve business continuity.Skills and experience required to be considered for this role:
Previous procurement or purchasing experience within the electronics manufacturing industry is essential.
Strong supplier management and negotiation skills with the ability to deliver cost savings.
Experience managing supplier performance, lead times and sourcing strategies.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management and analytical skills.
