Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a high-achieving secondary school in Islington looking to recruit an enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant for September.

This opportunity is ideal for graduates who are keen to gain valuable classroom experience before embarking on teacher training or further study. You'll join a welcoming school with excellent mentoring, supportive staff and a commitment to developing future education professionals.

The Role

Working across Key Stages 3 and 4, you will support students within lessons, deliver targeted intervention sessions and assist teachers in creating engaging learning experiences.

You may support pupils across a range of subjects or work closely with students requiring additional academic or SEND support.

This role provides an excellent insight into secondary education and offers the chance to develop your classroom confidence while making a real impact on students' progress.

Your Responsibilities

Support teachers across a range of curriculum subjects

Deliver academic intervention sessions

Provide small group and 1:1 support

Assist with classroom preparation and organisation

Help students build confidence and independence

Encourage positive engagement in learning

Monitor student progress and provide feedback

Support students with additional learning needs where required

About You

We're looking for graduates who are enthusiastic, proactive and passionate about education.

You'll ideally have:

A degree in any subject

Strong communication skills

Excellent organisational skills

A positive and flexible attitude

Experience working with young people (desirable)

An Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one

Whether your ambition is teaching, educational psychology, counselling or youth work, this role provides exceptional experience.
