Health & Safety & HR Advisor (NEBOSH Qualified)

Introduction

We’re looking for a proactive Health & Safety & HR Advisor to join a growing manufacturing business in Poole, in a predominantly Health & Safety-focused role (80% H&S / 20% HR). You’ll play a key role in ensuring legal compliance, promoting a positive safety culture and providing HR support to managers and employees across the business.

Key Responsibilities

* Act as the company’s competent person for day-to-day Health & Safety advice and ensure compliance with UK H&S legislation.

* Develop and maintain Health & Safety policies, risk assessments, safe systems of work, audits and site inspections.

* Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, managing RIDDOR reporting and driving corrective actions.

* Deliver Health & Safety inductions, toolbox talks and ongoing training.

* Support ISO 45001, environmental compliance, contractor management and continuous improvement initiatives.

* Provide first-line HR advice to managers and employees on employment matters.

* Support recruitment, on boarding, contracts, probation reviews and employee records.

* Assist with disciplinary, grievance, absence management and performance processes.

* Produce HR metrics and reports, support payroll administration and contribute to employee engagement initiatives.

Ideal Skills & Experience

* NEBOSH General Certificate (essential).

* Previous Health & Safety experience within a manufacturing environment.

* Minimum 2 years’ HR experience, with a good understanding of UK employment law.

* Strong communication, organisational and influencing skills.

* Experience carrying out risk assessments, audits and incident investigations.

* Knowledge of ISO 45001, IOSH membership and/or CIPD Level 3 would be advantageous.

Salary: £35K - £40K (Full time on-site role)

Hours: Days - Monday to Friday (Flex on Start Time)
