Location: Birmingham

Are you an ambitious Site Engineer looking to develop your career on a major highways project? My client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join their delivery team, supporting the successful execution of a high-profile infrastructure scheme in Birmingham.

The Role
As a Site Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of highway construction works, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with the Site Manager, Project Manager, and subcontractors, you'll be responsible for setting out, quality control, and maintaining accurate site records.

Key Responsibilities
·Carry out setting out and surveying duties for highways and associated civil engineering works.
·Ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
·Monitor site activities to ensure quality standards are achieved and maintained.
·Produce and maintain accurate site records, including as-built information and daily diaries.
·Assist with planning and coordinating construction activities to meet programme deadlines.
·Liaise with subcontractors, site teams, and design engineers to resolve technical queries.
·Ensure all works are carried out in line with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
·Support inspections, quality assurance processes, and testing requirements.
·Identify and report any site issues or design discrepancies, assisting with the implementation of effective solutions.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
·Previous experience as a Site Engineer within civil engineering or highways projects.
·Experience with setting out using Leica, Trimble, or similar surveying equipment.
·A good understanding of highways construction methods and engineering principles.
·Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
·Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
·Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a project team.
·HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
·Valid CSCS card (essential).
