We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Counterbalance Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a counterbalance forklift to move, load, unload, and store goods while maintaining an organized and efficient warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate a counterbalance forklift in accordance with company procedures and health and safety regulations.
Load and unload deliveries from lorries and containers.
Move stock to designated storage locations.
Pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch when required.
Carry out daily forklift safety checks and report any defects or maintenance issues.
Ensure stock is handled carefully to prevent damage.
Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with stock counts.
Keep the warehouse clean, tidy, and free from hazards.
Work collaboratively with warehouse staff to meet daily targets.
Skills and Experience
Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence (RTITB, ITSSAR, AITT, or equivalent).
Previous experience operating a counterbalance forklift in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
Good understanding of warehouse health and safety practices.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Good communication skills.
Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS).
Additional forklift licences (Reach, Bendi, or PPT) are an advantage.
Manual handling experience.
Credited License
Personal Attributes
Reliable and punctual.
Safety-focused with a proactive attitude.
Flexible and willing to assist with general warehouse duties.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Working Conditions:
Warehouse environment.
May involve lifting, standing for long periods, and working shifts, including weekends if required.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times
