Our client is a leading Tier 1 main contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering complex construction projects across the UK. They are currently seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join their team and commercially lead a major £90m refurbishment project in Oxford.
The successful Managing Quantity Surveyor will take full commercial responsibility for the project from pre-construction through to completion, working closely with the operational team, client and supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the commercial delivery of a major construction project from procurement through to final account.
* Manage subcontract procurement, accounts and negotiations.
* Prepare and manage CVRs, forecasts and cost reports.
* Manage variations, change control and commercial risks.
* Lead and support the project commercial team.
* Build strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Managing Quantity Surveyor or an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor ready to progress.
* Strong main contractor background.
* Proven experience delivering projects from pre-construction through to completion.
* Strong knowledge of JCT contracts, procurement, valuations, CVRs and final accounts.
* Experience managing or mentoring other commercial team members.
Experience delivering complex refurbishment, commercial, healthcare, education or life sciences projects would be advantageous.
