Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Salary: Up to £43,000 per annum
Role Overview
We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join a small, close-knit team operating within a critical hospital environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled engineer looking to work in a stable and rewarding role, maintaining essential building services that directly support patient care.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on mechanical plant
* Maintain and repair Air Handling Units (AHUs), pumps, and associated plant
* Diagnose and rectify faults including belt replacements, blockages, and leak detection
* Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety regulations and site procedures
* Support the wider engineering team in maintaining high standards across the site
* Participate in the on-call rota (every other shift)
Required Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
* Level 3 NVQ / City & Guilds or Equivalent In a Mechanical Discipline.
* Proven experience working as a Mechanical Engineer within a commercial or critical environment
* Strong knowledge of AHUs, pumps, belts, and general mechanical plant
* Experience with fault finding, including leak detection and clearing blockages
* Ability to work effectively within a small team environment
* Good understanding of health & safety compliance
Desirable:
* Experience working within a critical, healthcare or hospital environment
* Relevant mechanical qualifications (NVQ / City & Guilds or equivalent)
