Role Overview

EMBS Engineering are recruiting for an NPI Manufacturing Engineer to lead the introduction of new products into manufacture and to drive improvements across the manufacturing value stream. The role sits at the centre of Engineering, Projects, Quality and Operations, ensuring that new designs are translated into robust, repeatable manufacturing processes.

This is a hands-on role for an experienced manufacturing engineer who is comfortable leading cross-functional teams through New Product Introduction (NPI) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) processes, within a low to medium volume production environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) activities from design release through to full production handover.

* Develop manufacturing strategies and industrialisation plans for new products and programmes.

* Carry out Manufacturing Readiness Assessments and progress projects through the relevant Manufacturing Readiness Levels (MRLs).

* Produce and maintain core manufacturing engineering deliverables, including PFMEA, MSA, Gauge R&R and FAIR documentation.

* Lead Value Stream Mapping activities and drive improvements in flow, lead time and waste reduction.

* Formalise business procedures and develop supporting forms, tools and standard work instructions.

* Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams through NPI and APQP processes.

* Act as the key point of contact for internal stakeholders and client-facing communication on manufacturing readiness and project status.

Requirements

* Strong understanding of New Product Introduction (NPI) principles and practical delivery experience.

* Solid working knowledge of Manufacturing Readiness Levels (MRLs) and how they apply within NPI programmes.

* Proficient in core manufacturing engineering deliverables, including PFMEA, MSA, Gauge R&R and FAIR.

* Experience formalising business procedures and developing supporting forms and tools.

* Proven ability to lead a team through NPI and APQP processes.

* Strong communication skills, with the ability to manage internal stakeholders and client-facing interactions confidently.

* Credibility gained within low to medium volume production environments.

* Knowledge of Autodesk Vault and Inventor.

* Understanding of CNC machining, fabrication and assembly processes.
