My Client is looking for an experienced picker packer to join ther busy warehouse in Wickford. Although Driving is prefeered its not a necesity as there are good public transport liks to the business.
Warehouse Picker/Packer (Wickford Site) – We are looking for a Warehouse Picker/Packer to join our Screws team. Candidates will mainly work within our Screws department but may also work across the company. This is a very dexterous role and includes lifting boxes up to 25kg but also packing small packs of stock from bulk or weighing stock. Previous experience with large amounts of stock would be advantageous. This is a temp to perm role, Monday to Friday and the pay rate is £14.70. The usual working hours are 8am – 5pm, whilst we have no plans initially to change these hours later these may change due to operational need, candidates must be aware of this.
Main Purpose of the role:
Picking and packing orders across various departments and shift patterns, ensuring high standards are maintained throughout the day.
Key Responsibilities:
Reading and marking picking lists
Completing jobs within a reasonable timeframe
Locating stock using location codes
Warehouse maintenance (ensuring clear stock locations and a tidy warehouse)
Weighing and counting large quantities of stock
Labelling products
Packing and palletising various jobs ready for dispatch.
Checking orders.
Communicating with other departments. (including use of phone)
Working across multiple departments.
Identifying location errors.
Stripping pallets.
Other ad-hoc warehouse duties.
Essential Skills and knowledge required for the role:
Good communication skills.
Attention to detail.
Access to mobile phone applications for time keeping.
Must be able to routinely lift boxes up to 25kg.
Must be comfortable using a ladder.
Basic knowledge of Health & Safety.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Must be a trustworthy, reliable, team player.
