Central Recruitment is working with a London-based charity dedicated to preventing homelessness and supporting individuals in rebuilding their lives.
Our client is recruiting a Floating Support Worker to support clients across London. The service provides flexible, housing-related support to help individuals maintain their independence and sustain their accommodation, regardless of tenure type.
* 37.5 hours per week
* Monday - Friday
* Shifts: Between 08:00 - 18:00 (core hours 10:00 - 16:00)
* Temporary: approx. 2 months
* £16.69 per hour (£14.89 per hour, with £1.80 holiday pay)
Please note: This is a hybrid role. You will be based from the Vauxhall office and work across the community, supporting clients in their own homes. The role involves lone working and requires a minimum of 3 days per week working in the community.
Key requirements:
* Manage a caseload of up to 27 clients, delivering regular key work sessions and reviewing support plans
* Complete comprehensive risk assessments and risk management plans
* Provide housing advice, tenancy support and advocacy where required
* Support clients to develop independent living, budgeting and household management skills
* Assist clients moving into permanent accommodation, including property bids, viewings and resettlement
* Liaise with local authority housing teams and landlords
* Identify, report and follow up safeguarding concerns and incidents
* Liaise with internal teams and external agencies to maximise support and resources
* Support clients to access community activities that promote independence
* Help clients access education, training and employment opportunities
* Contribute to office duties and the drop-in service
* Maintain accurate client records in line with policies and procedures
What we’re looking for:
* Experience of floating support
* Experience supporting people with complex needs, including mental health, substance use, homelessness and offending
* Understanding of budgeting, benefits, rent arrears and housing options
* Experience providing person-centred support to vulnerable clients with complex needs
* Ability to complete high-quality needs assessments and risk management plans
* Ability to liaise effectively with partner agencies and service providers
* Good understanding of safeguarding and risk assessment
* Ability to work within a strengths- and recovery-based approach to promote independence
* Competent IT skills, including accurate record keeping, emails and report writing
Further requirements:
In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:
* Current valid right to work in the UK
* Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)
* A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60)
* Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
