We are currently recruiting a Recruitment Support Officer for our client based in Cardiff.

As a Recruitment Support Officer within the Foster Wales Cardiff team, you will be responsible for supporting the recruitment, engagement, and onboarding of prospective foster carers, acting as the first point of contact for individuals interested in making a difference to children and young people in care. Working as part of the local authority fostering service, you provide a professional, friendly, and informative service to guide applicants through the fostering journey and encourage more local people to consider becoming foster carers.

Key Responsibilities for Recruitment Support Officer:

* Manage and respond to fostering recruitment enquiries, providing accurate information and guidance to prospective foster carers through telephone, email, online enquiries, and face-to-face contact.

* Act as the dedicated first point of contact for potential foster carers, offering a warm, supportive, and professional service throughout the recruitment process.

* Provide information about fostering requirements, assessment procedures, training, and support available, ensuring information is communicated clearly and without unnecessary jargon.

* Support potential foster carers through the initial enquiry, registration, and application stages, ensuring enquiries are processed efficiently and professionally.

* Conduct initial visits and meetings with prospective foster carers to gather information, discuss their motivations, and provide guidance on the next steps of the assessment process.

* Maintain accurate records of fostering enquiries, applications, and recruitment activity using relevant databases and information systems.

* Support the fostering team in preparing and progressing applicants through recruitment and assessment processes in line with statutory guidance and local authority procedures.

* Coordinate recruitment activities, including fostering information sessions, community events, awareness campaigns, and outreach activities to increase local awareness of fostering.

* Attend and represent the fostering service at recruitment events, exhibitions, community meetings, and partnership activities to encourage new enquiries.

* Develop positive working relationships with internal teams, social workers, partner organisations, and community groups to support fostering recruitment objectives.

* Assist with the creation and distribution of recruitment materials, promotional resources, and communications to attract potential foster carers from a range of backgrounds.

* Monitor and maintain recruitment information, ensuring accurate reporting on enquiries, applications, conversion rates, and recruitment activity.

* Provide administrative support to the fostering service, including arranging appointments, preparing documentation, updating records, and supporting team processes.

* Ensure all recruitment activity is undertaken in accordance with safeguarding procedures, confidentiality requirements, data protection legislation, and local authority policies.

* Support the retention and engagement of existing foster carers by maintaining positive communication, sharing relevant information, and assisting with foster carer engagement activities.

* Contribute to continuous improvement of fostering recruitment services by gathering feedback, identifying challenges, and supporting improvements to the recruitment pathway.
