Are you an experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a meaningful difference to a child's educational journey?
The Supply Register is recruiting on behalf of Beckfoot Priestthorpe Primary School for a full-time 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to start in September 2026. This rewarding role involves providing dedicated support to a pupil with additional needs, helping them thrive both academically and personally within a nurturing primary school environment.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, approachable and resilient, with the ability to build positive relationships and provide consistent support throughout the school day.
Your role will include:
Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with special educational needs
Implementing tailored strategies to support learning, engagement and emotional wellbeing
Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school staff
Encouraging independence while providing appropriate levels of support
Promoting positive behaviour and creating a safe, inclusive learning environment
Building a trusting and supportive relationship with the pupil
We're looking for:
Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs
Experience working with pupils with complex needs and behaviours that may require additional support
A positive, patient and personable approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
A calm, resilient and proactive attitude
Someone who can bring energy, enthusiasm and consistency to the role
