Our client Walsall Council is looking for an Occupational Therapist to join their team.
About the role
The Occupational Therapist is responsible for delivering an effective and person-centred occupational therapy service to adults, children, and carers. The role focuses on promoting independence, wellbeing, and choice through assessment, intervention, and support planning. Working within relevant legislation, professional standards, and safeguarding frameworks, the Occupational Therapist assesses functional needs, recommends equipment and adaptations, and develops solutions that prevent, reduce, or delay the need for ongoing care and support.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct occupational therapy assessments to identify individuals' strengths, needs, and opportunities to maximise independence.
Assess functional abilities and make recommendations to prevent, reduce, or delay care and support needs.
Prescribe, order, and facilitate the timely provision of equipment and assistive technology.
Demonstrate the safe and effective use of equipment to service users, carers, and support networks.
Assess for and recommend minor and major home adaptations to promote independent living.
Work collaboratively with housing teams, health professionals, and partner agencies to deliver effective outcomes.
Design, implement, and review reablement programmes that support individuals to maintain or regain independence.
Undertake moving and handling assessments, complete risk assessments, and develop safe systems of work.
Promote and implement single-handed care approaches where appropriate.
Work jointly with formal and informal carers to ensure safe and effective use of moving and handling equipment.Benefits of working with Remedy
