Job Description:
Our Engine Test Technicians are responsible for carrying out tests on complete engines or sub-assemblies, also rigging and maintaining the test hardware. Engine Test Technicians are also responsible for operation and programming of automated test equipment, in accordance with Cosworth standards and practices.
The Role:
*
Fitting, removing and operation of engines (part or whole) onto dynamometers or motor rigs.
*
Fitting and set up of instrumentation onto test pieces.
*
Operation, maintenance, and calibration of common test bed equipment.
*
Able to run dynos and rigs control systems in test both manual and automatic modes.
*
Be able to change testbed control system variables at engineers direction.
*
Trouble shoot and resolve issues arising that prevent test work progressing.
*
Have familiarity with at least one engine ECU software.
*
Assist dyno engineering with test bed conversions/upgrades as required.
*
Maintain paperwork for tracking, lifting, fault database, maintenance sheets, and process measurements/checks.
*
Consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities.
*
Support the Company’s compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 by following company policy and best practice.
Candidate Profile:

Previous experience working in an engine test environment.
*
Manual dexterity.
*
A customer focused approach.
*
Apply structural logical approach to work, working in a clean organised manner.
*
Excellent time management and planning skills.
*
Self-motivated.
*
Confident and clear communication; verbal and written.
*
Good understanding of internal combustion engines and engine test methodologies.
*
BTEC, ONC or higher qualification in a relevant engineering discipline
