Immediate Start
£30k - £35k Annual
Full-Time
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm

We’re looking for a new Sales Associate to act as the first point of contact for new business enquiries at Finishing Line. This entry-level role combines enquiry triage and qualification, CRM ownership, prospect research, and structured onboarding coordination. You’ll help ensure the Commercial Director’s time is focused on opportunities that are commercially viable and operationally deliverable. Suited to a driven, proactive self-starter, this is an excellent opportunity to learn, develop, and grow within a fast-moving commercial environment.

What You'll Be Doing

Pipeline & CRM Ownership

Own CRM accuracy across all prospects and opportunities.

Manage pipeline stages, next actions, and deal progression.

Produce weekly pipeline reports highlighting risks and priorities.

Inquiry Triage & Qualification

Respond promptly and professionally to initial customer enquiries by phone and email.

Triage enquiries against Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) criteria and conduct discovery conversations to assess commercial fit.

Book qualified prospects onto calls with the Commercial Director.

Filter out low‑quality opportunities early while ensuring every enquirer receives a professional experience.

Historic Inquiry Review

Review enquiries from the past two years to identify prospects worth revisiting.

Re‑engage dormant or previously unconverted prospects where there’s renewed commercial fit.

Record findings, outcomes, and recommendations in the CRM.

Prospecting & Market Development

Research and identify new prospects with 3PL needs (warehousing, fulfilment, and distribution).

Build and maintain target account lists focused on high‑growth eCommerce brands.

Support outbound campaigns and initial outreach by phone and email.

Sales Process Coordination

Coordinate early‑stage sales processes across teams.

Gather inputs for proposals and pricing.

Ensure commercial and operational alignment.

Onboarding & Handover

Support onboarding of new clients.

Bridge sales and operations to ensure scope and commitments are clearly defined.

Customer Communication

Maintain clear communication with prospects.

Support relationship development pre‑sale.

What We're Looking For

Requirements

Graduate (any discipline) with around one year’s experience in a sales, commercial, customer‑facing role or a non‑graduate with at least three years’ equivalent experience.

Driven, proactive, and a genuine go‑getter with a strong work ethic.

Demonstrated initiative (e.g. promotion within a part‑time role, self‑started project, or notable personal achievement).

Confident, articulate communicator comfortable holding conversations on the phone.

Willing to learn the business from the ground up.

Organised, commercially aware, and coachable.

This role is fully on‑site, so you must be able to commute to our facility in Basildon, Essex.

Preferred

Interest in logistics, supply chain, or eCommerce.

Familiarity with CRM systems (HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive).

Experience using LinkedIn or online research tools to identify prospects.

Why Join Us?

Real impact – Help shape how new business opportunities are identified and qualified.

Structured development – Learn directly from senior commercial leadership in a growing 3PL business.

Collaborative culture – Work alongside supportive colleagues who value initiative and communication.

Career progression – Clear scope for growth as you develop your commercial and operational understanding
