Our client is looking for a Trainee Estimator to join their growing team in Caterham. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is eager to learn, enjoys working with numbers and wants to build a long-term career within the construction industry.
You'll receive full training and mentoring from experienced professionals, giving you the opportunity to develop your estimating skills while working on a variety of exciting projects across London and the South East.
Trainee Estimator
Location: Caterham, Surrey (Must be a driver due to location)
Salary: £24,000–£28,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, Full-time

The Role
As a Trainee Estimator, you'll be supported every step of the way as you learn how to prepare accurate cost estimates and assist with the tender process.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Assisting with reviewing tender enquiries, drawings and specifications.
* Supporting the preparation of estimates, quotations and cost breakdowns.
* Learning how to produce Bills of Quantities, pricing schedules and tender documentation.
* Attending site visits and surveys alongside experienced colleagues.
* Assisting with the preparation and submission of competitive tenders.
* Maintaining accurate project records and documentation.
* Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing information.
* Providing administrative support to the estimating team.
* Learning industry best practices through full training and mentoring.
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
* Numerate with strong analytical skills.
* Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
* Interested in construction, demolition or the built environment.
* A confident problem solver who enjoys working with figures.
* Eager to learn and develop a long-term career.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
* Able to work independently and as part of a team.
* A strong communicator with excellent organisational skills.
Ideally, you'll also have:
* A qualification or interest in Construction, Engineering, Surveying or a related subject (desirable but not essential).
* Previous office or administration experience (advantageous but not essential).
* A willingness to learn technical information and develop new skills.
* A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
