Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pipe Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing piping systems across various construction and industrial sites. This role requires a strong understanding of plumbing principles, fabrication techniques, and the ability to work safely in diverse environments. The Pipe Fitter will collaborate closely with other tradespeople to ensure projects are completed efficiently, accurately, and to the highest standards.

Responsibilities

* Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine piping layouts and installation procedures.

* Measure, cut, thread, assemble, and install pipes using hand tools and power tools.

* Fabricate pipe components as required for specific project needs.

* Ensure all piping systems are installed in accordance with safety standards and building codes.

* Perform maintenance, repairs, and modifications on existing piping systems.

* Collaborate with other trades such as carpentry, roofing, electrical, and welding teams to coordinate project activities.

* Conduct inspections of installed piping for leaks or defects and rectify issues promptly.

* Maintain a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency.

Skills

* Proven experience in plumbing, fabrication, or related construction trades such as carpentry or masonry is highly desirable.

* Proficiency with hand tools (e.g., wrenches, pipe cutters) and power tools used in pipe fitting.

* Knowledge of welding techniques and electrical experience is advantageous.

* Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints accurately.

* Strong understanding of safety protocols related to construction sites and pipe installation.

* Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.

* Physical fitness to handle lifting heavy pipes (up to 40kg), working at heights, and standing for extended periods.

* Experience with roofing, construction painting, masonry, or general fabrication will be considered a plus.
