Materials Controller
Location: Leeds
Salary: £29,345
Hours: Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week (Flexible start and finish times)

The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Materials Controller to join a busy maintenance and engineering operation in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive individual with a background in materials control, logistics, stores, or supply chain operations.

Working within the Stores team, you will play a key role in ensuring materials and components are received, controlled, stored and distributed efficiently to support operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Managing goods inwards and ensuring materials are stored correctly and accurately.
Raising requisitions and purchase orders.
Preparing materials for shipment and overhaul.
Loading and unloading deliveries safely and efficiently.
Issuing materials to operational teams.
Carrying out stock counts and inventory control activities.
Monitoring material usage and stock levels.
Expediting orders and liaising with suppliers where required.
Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards to promote efficiency and safety.
Working closely with stores and operational teams to ensure material availability.
Following company procedures and maintaining accurate records.
About You

Strong understanding of materials control, stock management and purchasing processes.
Experience processing purchase orders and managing inventory.
Excellent planning and organisational skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to prioritise workloads and meet tight deadlines.
Proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong commitment to health and safety.
Essential Requirements

Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Eligibility to drive company vehicles in accordance with the company's motor insurance policy.
Maximum of 6 penalty points.
Desirable Experience

Telehandler operating experience.
Overhead crane operating experience.
Experience within engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, heavy industry or rail environments.
Working Hours

Monday to Friday.
39 hours per week.
Flexible start times between 7:00am and 10:00am.
8 hour working day with a 30 minute unpaid break.
This role offers excellent flexibility and work life balance while working within a fast paced operational environment.

Additional Information

Drug and Alcohol screening.
DBS and background checks.
